Clearer timelines, simpler templates: Key changes to our Range Review Process
Clearer timelines, simpler templates: Key changes to our Range Review Process
Building a smoother, more collaborative path to the shelf
To ensure we are driving operational excellence and creating better experiences together, all major Range Reviews will transition to an updated set of operational milestones.
Note: This alignment applies to all packaged categories. Fruit & Vegetables and Meat will maintain their current independent schedules.
Why we are making these changes
Our primary goal is to foster a more consistent, transparent, and streamlined approach for both of our businesses. By aligning with the Customer Offer Reset framework, we are establishing:
- Consistency through milestones and timelines, so our teams are operating on the same page.
- Reliability with early decision-making, providing upfront visibility that drives targeted conversations, and reduces supply chain friction.
- Better collaboration by giving your teams earlier visibility into category strategy, our range ambition, and our process of analysis.

Updated timelines and terminology
The key shift: We are completely replacing the traditional “probable delete” (B Prefix) list. Instead, suppliers will receive a “Range Under Consideration” list much earlier in the cycle, embedded directly within Letter 1 (Notice of Upcoming Range Review). This critical adjustment gives both Category Managers and Trade Partners more time for robust data analysis and commercial engagement.
The updated milestone schedule is structured as follows:
| Milestone & Terminology Updates | Timing to Planogram (POG) Live |
|---|---|
| Letter 1 | Notice of Upcoming Review (Includes Range Under Consideration) | -30 weeks |
| Letter 2 | Notice of Pending Deletions | -20 weeks |
| Letter 3a | Notice of Final Deletions | -16 weeks |
| Letter 3b | Notice of Acceptance of NPD | -16 weeks |
| Letter 4 | Notice of Distribution Changes | -6 weeks |
| POG Live | Go-Live Date |
Simplified submission templates: NPD & Commercial Proposals
We have actively listened to your feedback regarding the complexity of upfront administrative paperwork. To reduce friction and save your team valuable time, we are introducing a streamlined Minimum NPD Template.
This revised standard requires only essential commercial metrics – such as unit costs, case sizes, and dimensions – for your initial product pitch.
1
Access the template:
Download the new template directly from the PartnerHub Knowledge Hub (Authenticated users only) or access the link attached directly to your category’s Letter 1 notification.
2
Submit initial proposal:
During review window.
Complete the essential fields and email the form directly to your Category Manager for commercial review during the specified window.
3
Finalise operational data:
Post-confirmation only.
You are only required to input full operational and logistical data fields into PartnerHub after your NPD proposal has been formally approved.
Next Steps: These updated timelines and standards represent core business processes for doing business with Woolworths Supermarkets. Please ensure your Commercial and Supply Chain teams are fully briefed on these milestone changes ahead of your next category review cycle.
If you have any questions or require clarification regarding an upcoming review, please reach out directly to your Category Manager or Merchandise Manager.
