At Woolworths, our Fresh Food People promise extends beyond the products on our shelves – it’s about the positive impact we create in the communities we serve. This March, we are proud to once again stand alongside our long-term partner, Share the Dignity, to tackle period poverty head-on.

From humble origins to a national movement, Share the Dignity has highlighted a critical truth: Access to period products is a basic necessity, not a luxury. As a strategic partner, Woolworths is leveraging our national store footprint to ensure these essential items reach those who need them most.

The Australian charity started in 2015 to assist the homeless and those experiencing domestic violence. Provision of free period care items now extends to schools and colleges, charities and via other community services so that essential personal care items can be accessed by those who can’t readily afford them. Woolworths has partnered with Share the Dignity in 2019 to help deliver this practical community support.

The maths in motion: How we’re giving back

Executing a national drive of this scale requires more than just logistics, it requires a shared vision. We would like to extend a huge thanks to our valued Trade Partners – Kimberly-Clark, Kenvue, Essity, and Church & Dwight – for their incredible support of the March Dignity Drive.

By aligning our goals, we are implementing a multi-faceted approach to support the drive throughout the month:

Direct funding

Woolworths is donating five cents from the sale of every period care product sold until 31 March 2026.

Operational infrastructure

These funds maintain a national network of over 110 Dignity Vending Machines, providing free products in essential community hubs, hospitals, schools, shelters, and domestic violence refuges.

In-store collection

The iconic pink collection boxes are stationed in-store, inviting customers to donate pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and period undies.

Driving customer engagement

To ensure we Execute with Excellence, we are incentivising customer participation through strategic value offers, including promotions and bonus Everyday Rewards point programs.

“Thanks to Woolworths, our Dignity Drive collection boxes are available in communities across Australia, helping us close the gap for women, girls and all those who menstruate doing it tough.”

Rochelle Courtenay, Founder and Managing Director of Share the Dignity.

Seven years of impact

Since formalising our partnership in 2019, Woolworths has donated more than $3.3 million. This achievement is a direct result of shared goals and the belief that big retail can solve big social challenges. By aligning our commercial activities with community needs, we create a level playing field where everyone has access to the essentials.
